WHAT IS INGO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION?

It is a saving group created to introduce the culture of Savings and Credit for community development with the objective of improving the Social and Economic welfare of individuals and communities living in poverty and deprivation, and the projects and organizations that support and empower them.

 

Its name shall be INGO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION UGANDA and it will acknowledge the wide heart and generosity towards the disadvantaged persons in its area of operations.    

Our CONSTITUTION

The constitution of the group, which serves as an official copy of the group’s constitution, is duly ratified by the group’s general assembly.

It is essential to note that this constitution was established and remains valid in accordance with the relevant provisions laid out in the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, which encompasses the following articles:

1. Article 29 guarantees the rights to freedom of conscience, expression, movement, religion, assembly, and association, with particular emphasis on its implementation as specified in Article 29(1) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

2. Article 38(2) stipulates that every Ugandan is entitled to engage in non-violent actions aimed at influencing governmental policies through participation in civic organizations.

3. Objective V(ii) of the national objectives and directive principles of state policy articulated in the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda mandates both the state and its citizens to foster national resilience across political, economic, and social dimensions, thereby minimizing excessive reliance on foreign nations and institutions.

Therefore, in cases where any law or custom conflicts with the provisions of the constitution, the constitution shall take precedence, rendering any inconsistent law or custom null and void to the degree of such inconsistency.

The Organization and its property shall be administered and managed in accordance with the   Constitution by the management Committee with powers from members of the board of directors.

A united and empowered community achieving sustainable social and economic development through a strong culture of saving, investment, and collective action.

To promote sustainable socio-economic development by advancing education, improving health, and empowering communities to live dignified lives grounded in mutual respect and inclusion.

Transparency

There shall always be  transparency and complete openness among members of the group in the transaction of its business; the group shall, in dealing with any institution, organization, individuals, foundation, groups, whether Government of the Republic of Uganda and its agencies or outside Uganda demand and encourage transparency.

Accountability

All group members shall be accountable to each individually and collectively as a group. In the exercise of the principle, all members shall present before the group details and receipts/evidence of activities implemented for the approval of the group members.

Democracy
